Sakura Golf success May 13 2009, 9:57pm via nisekogourmet.wordpress.com

With the beautiful weather over the whole weekend bringing out people from Niseko and beyond, the Sakura Golf event was a success for all involved.

The 1st tee at Niseko Golf Course

Over 150 golfers teed off with the Cherry Blossom in full bloom, the grass manicured and green and the peaks still capped with snow which made for beautiful photo opportunities. It was also great to see many of the local golfers and their family and friends join in the day.

Although it was a little bit windy on the Saturday, the marquee held up well and provided some nice shelter from the sun.

Obviously, the Niseko Gourmet BBQ we provided was one of the highlights, particularly for the Japanese customers who had not experienced a real gourmet western style BBQ before. In particular, for many of these customers, being able to eat beef tenderloin, lamb racks, pork belly and chicken with all manner of salads experienced a real eye opener as to how we foreigners like to enjoy a BBQ.

A huge thanks to Niseko Village and Niseko Golf course for putting on the event. If you are reading this and looking at playing a round or two over the coming summer, be sure to get in touch with Jeff Marks about your needs.
