We flew from Kyoto (Kobe airport, really, but close enough) to Sapporo to meet my family for our reunion. My dad's side of the family organizes a reunion every two years, and it's always somewhere that everyone has to travel to so that we all focus on spending time together. This year the gathering was organized by my uncle in Hokkaido, in northern Japan. The bulk of the family flew in from Hong Kong with a few of us coming in from North America.

From the airport we took a coach bus for about two hours to Niseko, our first destination. I was so happy to see my immediate family, but in particular my sister, whom I've missed a ton since she moved back home.
